More information, or should I say speculation, has surfaced regarding the sudden death of Michael Jackson who passed away on Thursday afternoon from cardiac arrest after medical officials tried for over an hour to resuscitate him. According to the latest reports, Brian Oxman, a former spokesperson for the Jackson family has made claims stating that Michael's death was most likely due to an overdose of Demerol (a extremely strong narcotic painkiller) which was administered to the star on a daily basis by his doctor for dance-related injuries. The lawyer also said that he had warned folks in Michael's camp of the dangers and possible grim outcome if the singer continued abusing drugs. "I had warned everyone that I could warn and I told them that one day, Michael Jackson is going to wake up dead, which is a very odd way of putting it," Oxman said. "I said one day, we're going to have this experience. And when Anna Nicole Smith passed away, I said we cannot have this kind of thing with Michael Jackson. The result was, I warned everyone, and lo and behold, here we are. I don't know what caused his death. But I feared this day, and here we are. I do not want to point fingers at anyone because I want to hear what the toxicology report says and the coroner says but the plain fact of the matter is that Michael Jackson had prescription drugs at his disposal at all times," he said. An autopsy was performed today and the coroner said determining the cause of Michael's death will require further neuropathology and pulmonary tests that will take four to six weeks. He went on to say that although Jackson was taking some unspecified prescription medications, there were no signs of foul play or trauma to the body during the three-hour autopsy.
Michael's body will be released once the family selects a mortuary.

UPDATE #2: Looks like ajc.com were a bit premature when they announced that Usher had not filed for divorce from his wife. On Friday, the newspaper posted another article confirming what many already knew and this time the proof is in the court records.

According to ajc.com, Usher filed the petition late Friday afternoon in Fulton County Superior Court. A hearing has been set for July 15 in front of Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane. For whatever reasons, Usher has decided to end his marriage just a month and a half short of what would have been his second wedding anniversary. These days Usher priorities are his children, his new album, titled Monster and his community service projects.

UPDATE: Media reports stating Usher has filed for divorce from his wife are false, according to AJC.com, (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution).

Atlanta-based pop start Usher and his wife, Tameka Foster, have not filed for divorce. The celebrity magazine In Touch, quoting anonymous sources, announced that Usher and his wife had filed divorce papers in Fulton Superior Court Thursday morning, prompting a flood of media inquiries to the clerk’s office. No such filing was found in a check of court records, however. The magazine distributed a news release Thursday promoting an article in its next issue. The release said the couple has had marital problems for almost a year and “the divorce papers were filed in Atlanta this morning.”

If true, who didn't see this coming? According to In Touch Weekly, Usher filed for divorce from his wife, Tameka Foster, of nearly 2 years.

In Touch can exclusively reveal that Usher and his wife, Tameka Foster, are divorcing. “The Grammy winner has been living apart from his wife for nearly a year after almost two years of marriage,” the insider exclusively tells In Touch, adding, “Usher’s primary concern is for his children. He is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them.” The soon-to-be exes have two kids together, Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months. And the insider says that it’s more than just talk — the divorce papers were filed in Atlanta this morning. The couple has faced problems in the past. In November 2008, In Touch reported that Usher was flirting with girls at a party in Miami, and even asked a model what she was doing afterward.

There have been online reports of a separation and impending divorce for quite sometime. BV Buzz columnist Jawn Murray was one of the first to report of the couple's separation late last year. Then earlier this week, tv/radio personality and blogger Egypt, posted a blog on her website stating Usher would be filing for a separation from Tameka this week. Last month, blogger Mrs. Grapevine posted the following on her site:

Word on the street is that Tameka Foster is making plans to divorce Usher, and has hired a publicist to help her image throughout the divorce. We all know once the story breaks, she will be labeled every dirty word in the book, because Usher fans simply hasn’t taken to her. Every since the “plastic surgery incident” the couple has not been seen together in public, and recent pictures of Usher flying solo with his son in Miami is only fueling the rumors.

What remains of Usher's marriage to Tameka remains to be seen. But there were signs that the couple were far from being in marital bliss starting with Tameka's botched lipo surgery in Brazil back in February; which her husband reportedly knew nothing about. After that, the couple hasn't been seen 'out and about' again. What we have seen are photos of Usher with his oldest son, Cinco, getting their splish-splash on in Miami Beach, photos of Usher being entertained by a go-go dancer/stripper overseas (and looking as if he was really enjoying it!), numerous photos of Usher not wearing his wedding band that he once flaunted in everyone's face at any given time and most recently photos of him and another woman (who was later identified as bing Def Jam Records product manager Grace Miguel) seen out and about in Beverly Hills and again at one in the morning outside of a hotel.

Dudes, when your mama tells you that something isn't right with the chick you're seeing, please believe it. Believe it even more when your mother would rather treat herself to a spa day in the Buckhead area of Atlanta instead of attending her son's first wedding ceremony (even if he did call off the wedding) in the Hamptons...and being absent from his second (civil) and third wedding ceremonies as well.
